Christian Warning The Retail Marketeer

Christian Warning, founder and Managing Director of The Retail Marketeers, a Hamburg, Germany, based sales & marketing agency. He is a customer-focussed and commercially driven senior marketer with a proven track record of developing and delivering award winning convenience retail formats and marketing strategies. 

Christian worked with Royal Dutch/Shell for 13 years in different retail management functions such as heading Shells bln dollar non-fuels-retail business in Germany in his early thirties. As a side step outside his oil core business he developed Germanys largest c-store franchise chain outside petrol filling stations as a senior manager of Deutsche Bahn/German rail. 

Based on one of the widest personally global networks in the industry Christian has a proven track record in guiding market entry processes. He always strive to do better, to create value and to be innovative and creative as a senior executive consultant for numerous multinational clients in a very operational „hands-on“ modus operandi to boost their sales and margins. Christian has profound experience in a variety of off- and online retail channels and markets. Successful in both structured and rapidly emerging environments, able to adopt to different corporate cultures. 

Christian Warning is a permanent member of the NACS International Board of Directors and as he is the NACS Representative in Germany, Austria and Switzerland he sits on the NACS Regional Committee EMEA. The NACS International Committees are comprised of retail and supplier leaders from around the world, dedicated to improving the global future of the convenience industry. Within this volunteer role for NACS he serves on the judging panel for the yearly NACS Convenience Retailer of the Year Award, the NACS European Convenience Industry Leader of the Year Award, the NACS European Convenience Retail Sustainability Award and the NACS European Convenience Retail Technology Award. 

NACS is is an international trade association representing more than 2,100 retail and 1,600 supplier company members. NACS member companies do business in nearly 50 countries worldwide, with the majority of members based in the United States. The association serves the convenience and fuel retailing industry by providing industry knowledge, connections and advocacy to ensure the competitive viability of its members' businesses.  



Christian has been a speaker at leading industry events throughout Europe and is hosting the most prestigious industry event in continental Europe the yearly NACS CEO Summit in his hometown Hamburg, Germany. He attended the University of Hamburg where he majored in Business Administration.
